Boxing Betting – Why You Should Wager On The Sweet Science

While the UFC has been growing in popularity over the past decade or so, there is still a place in the sports betting world for boxing. The sport fell out of favor with gamblers as there were lots of reports of fight fixing, shady promoters and there was a shortage of talent (particularly in the heavyweight class) but there are a few reasons why you should consider betting on boxing in the future.

There has always been a place for the lighter weight classes in boxing and right now, everyone wants to move to the 140-154 range; that is where the profitable fights await with Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao ruling the roost. That means you don’t have to settle on the heavyweight fights that used to get the majority of the attention in the sport of boxing, but that also means you have to get to know the lighter weight classes and that takes research. With the internet, you can find information easier on matches around the world, so you can find fights that may fly under the radar and that would be something that experienced players (ones that use bookie software) would prefer.

It is also a little easier to make money on boxing than, for example, football, where you wager on the spread instead of the money line. The money line offers slighter better than even odds for football, but in boxing, you can find value a lot easier and come out with a net gain in your sports betting account.
